Course Overview
The Project Management Skills Bootcamp (Level 3) is an entry-level course designed to prepare learners for project support roles or progression to a Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship. With project management in high demand, this course provides practical knowledge of key concepts, tools, and real workplace application.

What You’ll Cover in More Depth?
Week 1: Agile Project Delivery Foundations
- Explore Agile principles, Waterfall vs Agile, Scrum basics, iterative delivery, project life cycles, business value, risk awareness and how Agile supports changing organisational needs.
Week 2: Scrum Roles, Events and Team Collaboration
- Understand the Product Owner, Scrum Master and Developers, including sprint planning, daily Scrum, sprint reviews, retrospectives, team accountability, communication and decision-making.
Week 3: Backlogs, User Stories and Agile Planning
- Learn how to create and refine backlogs, write user stories, prioritise requirements, set sprint goals, define “done”, manage scope and plan work using timeboxes.
Week 4: Estimation, Kanban and Progress Tracking
- Use story points, planning poker, velocity, Kanban boards, work-in-progress limits, information radiators, reporting dashboards and progress charts to plan and monitor project work.
Week 5: Agile Leadership and Stakeholder Management
- Develop practical skills in servant leadership, stakeholder communication, expectation management, change control, feedback loops, psychological safety, conflict resolution and continuous improvement.
Week 6: Agile Frameworks, Scaling and Final Project
- Explore Scrum, Kanban, DSDM, Lean Agile and scaled approaches such as SAFe, including virtual teams, Agile governance, delivery risks, stakeholder reporting and final project presentation.
Certification
Learners will receive a BCS certification upon successful completion of the course, including meeting attendance requirements, completing project work and mini tasks, and submitting all required documentation.

Prerequisite
Age
Be aged 19 or over on August 31, 2025, for bootcamps starting between April 1, 2026, and July 31, 2026, or on August 31, 2026, for bootcamps starting between August 1, 2027 and March 31, 2027.
Residency
You must possess the right to work in the UK. While the program primarily targets residents of England, applicants from outside Hampshire within England may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Employment status
The bootcamp is open to individuals who are currently employed, self-employed, unemployed, or returning to the workforce after a break. This does not affect any Universal Credit. Although our April cohort is mainly focused on co-funded places.
Prior experience
Have an interest in project management and working in team-based environments. The access to a personal laptop with working webcam and mic (preferably less than 3 years old). Chromebooks, iPads or Tablets are unsuitable. There is an online assessment in the steps to apply followed by a short interview.
